Where every alpaca lives its best life

The Barn Visitors

Practice makes Perfect

Practice makes Perfect

For the past few months our alpacas have had some company in their barn. Although, their visitors weren't really invading the animals space because the visitors don't really utilize the ground. In the barn there has been a family of birds up in the rafters. We weren't really sure if there was a nest until yesterday when three young birds "fell" out of their nest. The animals haven't really noticed their new friends we have. All day today and yesterday these new to world youngsters have been learning how to fly. We as alpaca owners, are quite used to crias quickly picking up on cushing, walking, and even rolling; so its been a neat experience to watch a species where the learning process is slower. Yesterday, there was lots of nose diving and crashes, but tonight they were starting to get the hang of it. Although they weren't more then eight inches off the ground, they were starting to understand the use of their wings to help them glide over the ground. These little birds were very fun to watch and compare to our alpacas. Animals are all so unique and its always fun to watch young ones grow and learn new tricks, whether it be flying or walking!
