About Sandhills Suri Alpacas, LLC
We have been breeding and showing Suris for over 20 years and are thrilled where
we are at today. We were very selective in choosing our foundation females twenty years ago, and that has truly paid off. We thrive for longevity of quality in our herd, showing our oldest (20 years and Juveniles) with all placing in the ribbons. We are breeding for gray and have
Suris of all colors that are producing gray for us. Our herd of both foundation
females and herdsires all have extreme luster and tight locks, both
characteristics of a strong Suri phenotype.
Our Suris are all tall and stretchy with upright presence that looks great in the show ring and the pasture! Because of Kay's background in human research, our alpacas benefit from ground breaking research in human nutrition and healthcare.
Our foundation herd is comprised of Suris that all show a superior conformation, that upright "presence", and tightly-locked lustrous fiber. We were drawn to the taller more stretchy Suri, which seem to be something the judges like as well! We will continue to breed for superior conformation and fiber characteristics. We welcome you to visit us in person or give us a call. We would love to share with you our knowledge about alpacas and the industry!
